This photo reminds me of one of my favorite books, “Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type.” If you haven’t read it, you should.
I took this shot on a very hot, summer day at the Pioneers Museum in Colorado Springs. We had a photo scavenger hunt planned for that afternoon, but with temps in the mid-90’s I was afraid someone would get heat stroke. We changed our plans and went to the museum instead. Thankfully the staff was very accommodating, and their air conditioning worked extremely well. They have a great collection of artifacts, especially in the torture … uh, I mean medical room.
I made basic adjustments and removed noise and chromatic aberrations in Adobe Camera Raw. I added black & white and exposure adjustment layers and cropped in Photoshop.
